SITE-LINES Experience

Your journey into the unknown begins now.

SITE-LINES teams theatre-makers with partner communities to create cross-cultural, theatrical events — raising the profile of their cause locally, nationally, and beyond!

For this project, carefully selected theatre-makers are embedded into specific communities whose leaders have invited us to join them in artistic collaboration and solidarity. We are honored to carry our packs and join our partners on site. For new artists, this will be an incredible opportunity to engage with the culture, make new friends, connect with the natural landscape, learn from local master artists, better understand local challenges, and collaboratively develop an outdoor theatrical experience for the greater community.

This program is an incredible boost to our partner's efforts to direct attention to the plights of their community and is a great way for all involved to foster cross-culture collaboration, grow as storytellers, and make a lasting impact on each other’s lives, crafts, and causes.

This is a dramatic adventure that will forever change you, your work, and the world around you.

Upcoming Project:

SITE-LINES:

The Amazon

August 3 - 24, 2022

Our upcoming SITE-LINES experience is an immersive 21-day adventure deep within the Amazon Jungle of Ecuador culminating in an unforgettable day of street theatre magic for the entire community — gorgeous performances with social impact!

Lush Amazonian rainforests and a flowing river of creativity await our traveling artists as they head into uncharted territory. Through workshops with local master artists, cultural lectures, exploration of the landscape, and an intensive process of devising new work, all SITE-LINES theatre-makers will exchange deeply with the indigenous Shuar tribe of the Amazon Jungle.  Working hand in hand with our partner community, the collaborating artists will craft and present plays for a festive one-day-only event specifically designed to reach the greater community on the streets of downtown Gualaquiza in Ecuador.

Who can take part in a SITE-LINES experience?

Each SITE-LINES experience is open to theatre artists at all stages in their career — from students to emerging artists to seasoned professionals.  We are looking for a talented and diverse team of theatre-makers (directors, designers, writers, performance artists, street performers, and actors) who are ready to get back out there and make a difference. We’re looking for artists ready to explore new landscapes and cultures, engage and ally with communities in need, and tell the stories that need to be told and must be remembered.
