I'm a native New Yorker, born and raised on the upper west side. My passion for theatre started at a very young age when my mother (a physical therapist) got paid by one of her patients, with theatre tickets. I was very spoiled growing up, getting to see all the latest Broadway shows. I really got in to acting when I started school as a drama major at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and the Performing arts. It was an incredible high school experience with many unique opportunities. One of which was getting to perform musicals co-produced with New York City Opera.
After high school I went to Ithaca College for a year and then transferred to SUNY New Paltz, where I graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts. In college, I performed in such shows as AN ACTORS NIGHTMARE, THE HAIRY APE, SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, ANYTHING GOES, and my personal favorite THE LOVERS, THE DREAMERS AND YOU: A MUPPET MUSICAL in which I played the role of Miss Piggy. Aside from theatre I also have a passion for traveling (I've been to 13 countries, so far). After college I got a visa to work in Ireland. I stayed there for 5 months working in a pub and traveled around Europe for another 3 months. It's been a goal of mine to be able to combine the things I love, and all the while make a difference. Hence my interest in this project. Some of the service projects I've been involved with include the AIDS walk, working with Dementia patients, and volunteering for the Obama/Biden campaign. |
