My name is Lulu Fogarty and I am a Greenwich Village, NYC native! Before college, I performed with the Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Acadamy, of AMAS musical theatre. RLMTA is a program which prides itself on color blind, multicultural casting, and bringing people from all socio-economic backgrounds together with art. I think being a part of RLMTA has informed my entire life thus far. I graduated from Syracuse University last May with a Drama BFA. While at S.U. I performed Tim Robbins' Embedded at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival in 2006, then studied abroad in London for the semester, taking classes at Shakespeare's Globe. I also performed in productions of Dutchman, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Uncommon Women and Others, Talking With, The Art of Dining, and Mary Zimmerman's Arabian Nights. Since graduating I've done several off-off Bdway shows, including both runs of Surrender, "an interacting war deployment experience", produced by the International WOW Company. I recently returned from South Carolina where I played Annelle in a production of Steel Magnolias at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina in Hilton Head. I am a new member of AEA, and am still looking for representation (like most of NYC, no?)! In terms of service, most of my life I have done fundraising for AIDS/HIV related charities and events, from walking in AIDS Walks in NYC in elementary school, to biking 585 miles from San Francisco to LA three times to raise money for AIDS research and HIV services in AIDS/LifeCycles 4-6. Both of my Godfathers had died of AIDS by the time I was 6, so it is a cause that I hold very close to my heart. In terms of work with children, I worked at a theatre day camp for 3 summers, teaching art and dance to children 6-14. And I play with 2-4 year olds every Sunday in Sunday School. I truly believe that art can change the world.
