Swedish-American actress Lisa Pettersson came from Sweden to the United States to study at Columbia University where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Pre Med. While at Columbia, she also discovered her passion for acting when working on an experimental production of De Rojas’ La Celestina with the celebrated British director and set designer Pamela Howard. Upon graduation, she landed a job as a Management Consultant, but continued to pursue theater on the side by taking classes at places like the Actors’ Center and studying with some of New York’s finest teachers such as Debra Wiley and Anthony Abeson. She went full-time with theater in December 2006 and has since acted in productions like the Crown Point One-Act Festival at the 42nd street Theater Row, Happy Hour at the Big Little Theater, the Interactivity and Human Need show at the Daryl Roth theater. She has also starred in numerous short and independent films. She is thrilled about Dramatic Adventure Theater because of its commitment to cultural exchange, service, and to bringing stories from places like Zimbabwe to American audiences. She believes that Dramatic Adventure has an important task to reflect an alternative and more human view than is portrayed in media of what it is like to live in countries, such Zimbabwe, where political instability, poverty, disease, and censorship are facts of life.
