My name is Katie and I live in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. I love theater, foreign languages, reading, watching chick-flicks, and hanging out with friends. I am heavily involved with my church’s activities and I speak enough Spanish to get around.
I have been teaching Spanish to children ranging in age from 6-12 for two years and have directed two children’s plays in Spanish using my students as the actors. It’s been a great way to keep up on my Spanish since Harrisburg Area Community College, where I am currently enrolled, does not offer Spanish past 202. I love learning about different cultures and hope to gain a better understanding of Ecuador’s people and their customs while we’re down there. I will be transferring to Millersville University in the fall where I will major in Spanish and Education and minor in German. I am currently a Theater Major. After I earn my Bachelor’s degree I want to teach Spanish and German at a high school as well as direct their plays and musicals. I have been acting in Community Theater since I was five years old. I am a perfectionist and an overachiever. My life’s goals are to become a secondary language teacher; direct plays and musicals; become fluent in five languages other than English; and publish at least one book. I write fiction although I have never shown my work to anyone.
