Erin began her acting training as a teen at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. At 17 she directed her first production, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE. She spent many summers in the Berkshires, learning various technical theatre skills while working for Shakespeare & Company, The Albany Berkshire Ballet, Thespis of Williamstown, and the Austin Riggs Theatre. After moving west and graduating from California State University, Northridge in 2000, she helped form the Sons Of Beckett Theatre Co. (S.O.B.s) in Hollywood, CA. Erin directed numerous shows with the S.O.B.s, including Shakespeare’s MEASURE FOR MEASURE and her own adaptation of Paulo Coelho’s VERONIKA DECIDES TO DIE. She led the group in a Charles Mee inspired “(re)making project”, which resulted in the original creation, 29 THINGS TO DO ON A RAINY DAY. Also with the S.O.B.s, Erin assistant-directed and choreographed the west coast premiere of Chinese Nobel Laureate Gao Xingjian’s THE OTHER SHORE for the Edge of the World Theatre Festival. Erin has co-produced and performed with Tres Chingasos Theatre Collective, including TEXTBOOKS & FENCES and EL COLONEL at Tia Chucha’s Café Cultural, and LUMBRE at Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica. When not in the theatre, she can often be found playing synthesizer for her band, The MOODS (www.themoods.net). While in the graduate program at the University of California, Irvine, she directed productions of DESDEMONA, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN, STILL LIFE WITH IRIS, BFE, TWO ROOMS, and ABSTRACT EXPRESSION. Erin will earn her MFA in Directing at UCI this June.
