This film inspired her to create “American Spirits,” a showcase of four original one-act plays at The Gene Frankel Theatre in NYC. During this experience she helped coach women on taking personal experiences to the page, and eventually the stage. She has also worked with Survivors of Suicide (SOS), helping individuals find their own unique voice through tragedy. Her work has been seen on multiple stages, and at various festivals including, The Sam French, Strawberry One-Act, The Network, and The Complex Theatre Project in Los Angeles. Amy’s full-length play, “His Name is Edgar,” will be showcased at The Amazing Play festival in New York City this coming June. Along with all her many writing adventures, Amy has been in various off-off Broadway productions including, “Yoga is Beautiful, Man,” “The Inmate Show,” “Worms,” “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea,” “The Sword Politik,” and “Beautiful Night.” Most recently she has been volunteering with PRO-TV, a non-profit devoted to free professional youth media production, helping with their international media exchange program. Amy believes that theater has the ability to heal, empower, and create change in the world.
