WHAT IS THIS?
For two full days (Feb. 6th & 7th, 2010), Dramatic Adventure Theatre will workshop with New York's community of theatre artists. It'll be an inspiring weekend as we share the unique tools and techniques DAT uses while out on the field. Tools and techniques that we have found to be the most effective in all areas of theatre (acting, directing, playwriting, teaching, collaborating, composing, fundraising, producing, and more). We will share with you our experience integrating theatre, service, and travel. We will hold workshop sessions and conversations. At the end of our time you and your assigned cast of artists will create an original piece of theatre using the techniques learned and will perform these pieces with and for your peers. On top of all this learning and creating, you will also have many opportunities to network. Dramatic Adventure Theatre will also invite each participant to audition for ACTion: Ecuador 2010.
..

GOALS:
Our hope is that everyone will walk away from this weekend empowered with the tools and inspiration to go out and turn their creative ideas into reality!

We hope everyone will look at themselves a bit differently after the intensive... to see themselves not just as actors or directors, but as theatre artists. Artists who take responsibility for their actions, who carefully examine the environment in which their play is developed & produced, and who find unique ways to give their work more purpose.
