The following is a list of the top ten prerequisites, commitments and responsibilities, and benefits of being a core company member with Dramatic Adventure Theatre. The lists are in no particular order and actual positions may vary slightly, but this will give you a good idea of what we're looking for in a company member. |

1.) Must be an active company member |
2.) Must have a heart for service |
|
3.) Must have incredible talent |
|
4.) Must have a relevant university degree, conservatory training, or other equivalent education |
|
5.) Must have traveled with Dramatic Adventure Theatre on a minimum of two projects (in two different countries OR two different roles - one of which must have been as STAFF) |
|
6.) Must have attended a language intensive abroad and must be actively pursuing or maintaining a second language |
7.) Must maintain a history of going above and beyond the call of duty with DAT, both during a project and in-between projects |
8.) Must write at least one grant for DAT or raise your own funds for at least one project |
9.) Must be comfortable (or comfortable faking it) in most environments... from camping to home stays to city hostels to luxurious lodges... from dirty to clean, dark to bright, cold to hot, rough to luxurious, foreign to familiar, and everything in-between |
10.) Must WANT to do this, it's a lifestyle choice

COMMITMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.) Work: mix of administrative, artistic, and teaching work
(NOTE: core company members should prepare for, attend and participate in the vast majority of events throughout the the year. Actual work schedules will be negotiated on a case by case basis.)
2.) Time: Negotiated to work around individual’s work schedule, ideally and eventually a core company member is a full time paid "faculty" position. (always 24/7 while abroad)
3.) Abroad: Travel on a min. of one project/ year
4.) Language: vow to learn two languages, one "major" and one "minor" (outside of your native tongue)
(NOTE: not actively required until this position becomes full time)
5.) Company Training: theatrical technique, master classes and workshops, travel related training
(NOTE: not required until this position becomes full time)
6.) Leadership: take on leadership roles within the company
7.) Board Member: attend and prepare for all board meetings and participate in yearly retreat
8.) Planning: independently organize a "region" of all new VOICES projects, take on organizational roles in the preparation for all projects.
9.) Fundraising: writing grants, finding sponsors, preparing fundraisers
10.) Recruitment: all company members will recruit new company members and make yearly decisions on what it means to be a company member
