NOTE:
You will be given your custom cast zub at the airport and be sure to bring at least one extra shirt in your team color.

PACKING SUGGESTIONS for ACTion: ECUADOR
- Traveling Backpack
- Rain cover for backpack
- Day Pack with no small accessible zippers (a backpack is best to carry when you also have your large backpack)
- Nalgene Bottle (a 32 oz, less refills needed in the day- but a 16 oz. works fine as well)

Layer-able clothing (it's cold in the Andes and very warm in the other destinations)
We suggest:
- 7 light t-shirts or tank tops (your DAT shirt is INCLUDED in this number)
- 4 long sleeved shirts which can be layered on top of the t-shirts and each other
- 1 heavier sweater or sweatshirt
- 1 good AND packable raincoat
- 1 pair hiking shoes which can be worn daily (rain resistant or sprayed with waterproofing spray suggested)
- 1 pair "hardcore sandals" like Keen or Chocos which can be worn with socks
- 1 bathing suit
- 1 towel (hotels won't have them)
- enough underwear and socks for the whole time- or wool lite hand wash soap, the only place with laundry will be in Quito, and you won't really have enough time there once your clothes are dirty.
- Personal First Aid Kit- bandages, ache medicine, neosporan, anti-diareal, motion sickness. (Your guide will have a larger kit with things such as ice packs, different sizes of bandages, cold medicine, etc. plus more of what you're encouraged to bring.)
- sunscreen! We mean this! I am a die-hard fan of 15 sunscreen, I wear it everywhere, even when we traveled to Africa, but we are on the equator and I was burnt every time I used it, you should bring AT LEAST 30-50, and wear it everyday. (The guides will have some, but not enough for everyone, so bring some from home or bring money to buy it there.)
- bugspray! Everyone will travel to Mindo, and everyone will be threatened by the biting, stinging, itch-you-for-three-weeks-later bugs that are found there. Bring Bugspray, you'll thank us!

Optional:
-umbrella
-a flashlight or head lamp (necessary for La Selva trip)
-some home-snacks to share and trade (trail mix, granola bars, twizzlers)
-a card deck, normal cards or uno something small- we'll try to introduce you to your cast mates so you don't double up on things like this.

Tips for the Ladies:
- don't bring a hairdryer, you'll regret losing the space in your bag
- bring a sarong which can be used as a scarf, a light blanket, a shawl, and a beach accessory to eliminate all the others
- look into getting a whizfreedom, www.whizfreedom.com, or read our blog to hear our experience on the last trip to Ecuador. It's an amazing product
- look into getting a diva cup, www.divacup.com. Another amazing product, it will eliminate the need for lots of feminine products.
